Ok, so I am finally getting into vlogging and thought that since I am going to Big Sur backpacking anyway I should just shoot video the whole time and tell my story in this style so you can “come along with me” and kind of see what its like out in the back country of Big Sur, CA. If you have not been there it should be on everyones bucket list. People ask me all the time “what is Big Sur like” and the only way I have ever been able to describe it is “Soul Cleansing”. Big Sur has a certain charisma about it that washes away all stress and you get this sensation of just “AAAAAHHHHHHH” when you are there.
There are many day hikes and multi-day backpacking adventures you can plan and do here as well as take in local culture with art galleries, site seeing, nice hotels (super pricey though), and good restaurants. My favorite place to get a bite to eat and a cold beer is Nepenthe. Its about 1 mile south of Big Sur Station on the left as you are going north on HWY 1 and it offers a extensive menu, great local wines, fantastic whiskey & beer selection as well as possibly the best view and ambiance of any other restaurant on the coast! The outside patio area has heaters and a 180 degree view of the Pacific that places you a few hundred feet above the ocean for a real majestic feeling.
