Today I am reviewing the Leopard A.C. 58 internal frame backpack from Granite Gear. This is a light weight pack weighing in at just over 3lb. It is very well made with organization pockets and places that simplify your life on the trail. It is very comfortable for long hauls and can carry a max load of 40lb. I had about 35lb in the pack for a weekend adventure testing a bunch of new gear and it did great!
Granite Gear is known for making world class backpacks as well as other gear too. The guys and gals behind the scenes of research and development take the bull by the horns in terms of design and functionality. This pack is no exception…The features built in to this pack are amazing to say the least. The “Award Winning” AirCurrent suspension has a 3D molded frame with very well padded shoulder straps and the torso length is easily adjustable.
The main body of the pack is hydration compatible and will fit up to a 3l reservoir and has its own sleeve and hydration tube port (sold separately). The top of the pack has a roll-top closure while the lid is removable and has its own internal mesh pocket. There are many and I do mean many compression straps on this pack which can make things frustration when trying to accomplish a simple task but the straps are necessary due to the way the body of the pack is designed.
As for organizing all of your gear, well these guys thought of just about everything. The pack has tool loops, an external flap (kinda like a beaver tail) with ice axe cinches and 2 zippered pockets, there is a larch zippered stretchy pocket in front and stretchy wand pockets.
The pack is made entirely of 100 & 210 denier high tenacity #Cordura Fabric and has an internal max volume of 3,540 cu in.
